Nora Mabrouki is a Dutch artist who is born and raised in the capital Amsterdam, but is currently living in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
She developed her love for art at a very young age. Her father used to bring her colouring pages from the local supermarket where she would draw them in and send them back to enter a drawing contest. Nora really put in the effort and actually won some prizes with it. It is surprising that most of her work is in black and white these days looking back where it all started with filling in the colours. Nora's interest in creating illustrations only happened after getting a degree in Graphic Design at the Willem De Kooning Academy.
Her inspiration comes from numerous things including staring in the distance and zoning out to be taken over by random thoughts. Next to drawing Nora is a passionate dancer and likes to participate in dancing battles and jams. For her this is a great way to escape the daily routine.
The work Nora did for Tucknee is from a series of 'hand' drawings. She does these sketches besides her more detailed and more time consuming work. She calls them "My brain farts in an illusive world with the hand as a main character". To see more of her minimalistic and amazing work you can find her on Instagram:
